The COVID-19 pandemic has unraveled devastating economic and personal impacts for small business owners. Even before this pandemic, Hispanic small business owners in Georgia already faced significant barriers and challenges that were keeping them from growing—some even surviving.
Events have been canceled and postponed. Many stores and restaurants have had to close. This has negatively impacted our small business community in unimaginable ways. While the federal government provided funding for small businesses, many of the Hispanic small business owners we serve did not qualify to apply or were not approved for these loans.
