The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA), in collaboration with the Nevada Division of Minerals, is dedicated to empowering educators with the knowledge and resources essential for delivering high-quality K-12 earth science education. Our commitment is exemplified through the organization of two annual earth science workshops, one in Southern Nevada and the other in Northern Nevada. These workshops serve as valuable platforms for educators to delve into a diverse array of earth science topics, encompassing mineral and rock identification, rock formation processes, geologic phenomena, the significance of mined materials, and the contemporary relevance of mining in our 21st-century lives. Attendees are equipped with the necessary tools for crafting accurate, standards-aligned science lessons, while also having the opportunity to embark on illuminating tours of active mines and geologically significant sites. We take pride in nurturing educators' proficiency in earth science, fostering a more informed and inspired generation of learners.
