Environmental Health

The Environmental Health Division (EHD) at the Mohave County Department of Public Health is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community through comprehensive inspection and licensure services. This division oversees various establishments critical to public health, including restaurants, grocery stores, swimming pools, septic and refuse haulers, pet shops, grooming facilities, kennels, and lodging establishments. Environmental Health Specialists, possessing a strong scientific background and Arizona Department of Health Services registration, play a pivotal role in executing these services.

Under delegation agreements from both the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and the Arizona Department of Health Services, the EHD exercises authority in carrying out its responsibilities. The division responds to public health nuisance complaints across multiple department offices, strategically located in Kingman, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, and Beaver Dam. With a focus on food safety, permit recalls, and inspections, the EHD is committed to upholding environmental health standards and regulations. The division also provides valuable resources such as food handler classes, forms and applications, and information on ordinances and public accommodations, contributing to the overall health and safety of Mohave County residents and visitors.
