Workers Wage Program

The MWAA Airport Workers Wage Program, designed to uphold the Airport Workers Wage Policy, serves as a cornerstone in ensuring fair compensation for employees working within MWAA's jurisdiction. Under this program, MWAA implements a comprehensive set of rules outlined in its Administrative Rules to enforce the Policy effectively. Central to the Program's mandate is the requirement for "Covered Businesses" to adhere to a minimum hourly wage, known as the "Base Wage Rate," for all work conducted within the airport premises.

With a focus on equity and dignity in the workplace, the Program seeks to uplift the livelihoods of airport workers by establishing wage standards that reflect the value of their contributions. By stipulating clear guidelines and enforcement mechanisms, MWAA aims to cultivate an environment where all workers receive just compensation for their labor, fostering a more equitable and sustainable aviation ecosystem within the Metropolitan Washington area.
