Project Safe 417 (PS417) is a collaborative initiative between SafeNest, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD), and the North Las Vegas Metro Police Department (NLVMPD) aimed at reducing domestic and sexual violence and related homicides in the Las Vegas Valley. When LVMPD or NLVMPD receives an initial crisis call (police code 417), they alert SafeNest's 24/7 hotline and request PS417 first responder support. SafeNest's specially trained first responder advocates then join Metro officers at the scene to provide crucial support, safety planning, information on community resources, and legal options like Emergency Protective Orders to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. This collaborative approach ensures a swift and comprehensive response to individuals in crisis, enhancing safety and access to essential services for survivors.
