The Senior Services Department in Romulus offers a variety of entertainment, recreation, and essential services for older adults at the fully staffed Senior Citizen Center, open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.
Essential Services:
- Daily Meals on Wheels and hot lunches
- Monthly distribution of nutritional supplements, surplus commodities, and Focus Hope
- Free transportation for medical appointments and weekly shopping trips
- Monthly discounted haircuts, podiatrist visits, and lawyer consultations
- Caregiver support, Medicare Part D counseling, flu clinics, health fairs, and blood pressure screenings
- Medical equipment pantry
Programs & Activities:
- Art and craft demonstrations, bingo, bunco, chair exercises, and game days
- Quilting club, Senior Olympics, themed luncheons, and trips to local attractions
- Walking club, card games, casino outings, and scrapbook/jewelry-making classes
- Social club meetings and daily hot lunches
