The Veterans History Project, housed at the Library of Congress, serves to collect and preserve firsthand accounts from U.S. military veterans spanning from World War I to recent conflicts and peacekeeping missions. These personal recollections are made accessible to future generations, offering profound insights into the experiences, actions, and emotions of veterans during their service. Congressman Mike Simpson's office conducts 30-minute interviews with veterans to document their stories. Alternatively, collections can include 20 pages of written manuscripts or 10 original photographs or letters (which will not be returned). Congressman Simpson and Idaho honor and appreciate the dedication of active-duty military personnel and Idaho National Guard members, as well as the sacrifices made by veterans in safeguarding the freedoms of the American people.
