Mechanic

Mechanic. Custer Public Power is currently seeking a Mechanic at the Broken Bow headquarters building.

The Mechanic will manage the vehicle maintenance program of all the District’s vehicles and trailers. This will include performing and documenting scheduled maintenance, recommending changes to ensure the efficient maintenance and operation of vehicles and trailers, repairing vehicles and trailers when necessary, and maintaining stock of repair parts. This position will assist in recommending timing of vehicle and trailer replacement.

The Mechanic will maintain the shop. This position will also assist District personnel in the maintenance and repair of their assigned vehicles and trailers, assist with freight loading/unloading, and other assignments as directed by the Purchasing Manager.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  Graduation from vocational/technical school with specific training in general mechanics, hydraulic and electric systems required.  Five years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the vocational school requirement. Specific mechanic certifications may be required and/or desired. Welding certifications and/or experience highly desired.  Ongoing specialized training as required by management.  Must be or will be trained in CPR and basic first aid.
